Hello, my name is Robert Clifford and I am an independent mortgage banker with Waterstone Mortgage here in Boise.  As a Correspondent Banker, we have established lending relationships with several major banks, which provides us with a broader range of underwriting guidelines and the ability to shop bank rates for our client’s benefit.  Being a Correspondent Banker provides us with 100% control over your loan, as we do all the processing, underwriting, document drawing and funding in-house.  All of this helps us to create a smoother loan experience for our clients, while offering the most loan options at the most competitive rates.

My success in this demanding marketplace, which includes the entire Treasure Valley, and throughout Idaho, is due to my unmatched level of service and understanding of the mortgage industry and my clientele.  What I love most about my job is helping people realize their financial goals and dream of homeownership.

As a native Idahoan and Boise resident, I have been a specialist in mortgage lending for over 13 years.  I have a Bachelor Degree in Finance with a minor in Economic Forecasting, which affords me a better understanding of the economic markets and the forces which drive them.

I spend time each day studying several industry periodicals and have bond market text updates sent to me several times daily so that I may take advantage of the best time to lock in a rate for my clients.  As a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist™, I have expertise in the area of mortgage planning, cash flow management and real estate equity management that will help me advise you on how to best accomplish your goals.

By utilizing timely communication, product expertise and excellent customer service, I have found innovative mortgage solutions to meet my client’s individual financial needs.  My energetic dedication is also evidenced by additional community involvements, such as being an active member of Rotary International, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, and an instructor for the Neighborhood Housing First-Time Homebuyer Education Program for over 10 years.
